Guest guest
Just wanted to let everyone know that my dad passed away very peacefully while he was sleeping at 2:15 this morning. Thank you for all of your prayers and good wishes. I am so sad but at the same time rejoicing that he is at peace and out of pain. Love you all- R. (52) Sarcoid/PF 3/2006 Carlsbad, California MB- I am on Medicare and Blue Cross thru my husbands work. It supplements my medicare. I just called my o2 provider and they said just to call them and they will call their affiliate in Denver to have oxygen delivered to my motel...but that doesn't cover the ride to the airport nor the terminal and the terminal at Denver and the ride to the h otel...I will have to enquire further. Thanks for the tip about the insurance not paying for the oxigen fee on board the plane. I will ask about a portable concentrator. I am home today waiting to hear from The National Jewish but so far they haven't called. I am thinking of calling them. Joyce Rudy Re: No oxygen and flying Joyce RudyI am normally a lurker but when I see something like this I need tospeak up!!If you are currently on O2 DO NOT fly without it. I am a retiredflight attendant and I am speaking from experience. I had to retirebecause my O2 saturation went down to the low 80's inflight and I wasnot on O2 at the time. My saturation was normally 95-96 when on theground. You are only asking for trouble. You could passout on theairplane or worse yet. Please reconsider your decision.Jan Titus IPF 04/03TX (listed)10/03- -currently inactive>> I'm still playing telephone tag with The Jewish Hospital and wonderhow long ahead that they make an appoointment. Does anyone know if itwill be weeks or months?>> I have decided to not take my oxygen with me on the plane. I amonly on 3 liters and the terminal is at sea level in Pheonix and I amat 5200 feet at home so I should be all right walking thru theterminal and on the plane, I am not moving so my need for oxygen willbe little. I don't know about Denver's terminal..how long it is, etc.but I think I can make it. That will make things considerably easierfor me traveling. The Jewish Hospital said to contact them if youneed oxygen and I will. I have to cut expenses and if Medicare won'tpay for it I won't take it. It will all ready cost me about $200 adaywith dog boarding, plane fair and hotel and food expenses. I hope tobe able to get into a motel or hotel that has a shuttle and thatshould cut expenses a bit. Also, I would like one that has Wifi andbreakfast. I think I can make it on 2 meals a day. I hope they havedining facilities too but would love it if there were a Burger Kingwithin easy distance..LOL The patient representative said that Icould be there 7 days. The key word is COULD so if I plan on theoriginal 4 that they first said what will happen to my return ticket? And if I get a return ticket for 7 days what if they are thru with mein 4? This all seems so complicated. And this telephone tag isaggravating. She leaves me a message that says "Call me as soon aspossible" and I do and all I get is an answering machine that saysshe will get back to me in 24-48 hours...well, she never gets back tome in 24 and then there is the whole weekend and then when Mondaycomes I have things I have to do! I have to run around and get thetests results sent and they are in more then one facility! I alsohave my exercise class and Usually need to go shopping...I can't justsit at home and wait not knowing when they will call. They asked mefor my cell phone number which I called and gave her (leaving it onher voice mail which she said would be fine) but she has never usedit. I am so frustrated with The Jewish I have to just forget aboutthem and go about my business.>> Today is a bad day breathing wise for me and I don't know why....Ifeel like I am not getting enough air and my chest feels "heavy". Ifeel like one of my dogs is sitting on my chest....does that makesense? BlueFlyer JOyce AZ IPF 11-08>
