Guest guest
> I know that Andy encourages the use of adrenal cortex extract, since adrenal > glandular tend to include epinephrine. >No experience with the formulation you mention, but just wanted to say >that the first adrenal product I tried was glandular (I missed the >distinction about cortex extract)and one capsule gave me a terrible, >scary panic attack that lasted for hours. Good heavens - so now there is a distinction between a glandular (some claim no adrenal hormones), a dessictaed galndular (with hormones) and an adrenal cortex extract. This is the only adrenal product we can get in SOuth Africa https://www.enzymeprocess.com/product_info.php?cPath=1&products_id=1&osCsid=9458\ 546128887519696f54ebfdba0396 Called an Adrenal Cytotrphin. Can anybody figure out exactly what it is? Thanks, Dean
Guest guest
Since it doesn't specify cortex only, I would lean towards assuming that it's the whole bovine adrenal gland, which is going to include the medulla & thus possibly adreneline. Can you order Isocort from overseas & have it shipped to you as a " supplement " ? Best price I found was here - $22.46 for 240 pellets (put " Isocort " in search box to find it): http://www.thenaturalonline.com/ Can you call them & see if they'll ship it? > Good heavens - so now there is a distinction between a glandular (some claim no adrenal hormones), a dessictaed galndular (with hormones) and an adrenal cortex extract. > This is the only adrenal product we can get in SOuth Africa https://www.enzymeprocess.com/product_info.php? cPath=1&products_id=1&osCsid=9458546128887519696f54ebfdba0396 > Called an Adrenal Cytotrphin. > Can anybody figure out exactly what it is? > Thanks, > Dean

As another assault on our health freedoms, South Africa has introduced legistaltion that stops EVERY medication and supplement unless you have a particular permit that you obtain, with great effort, from the Medical control council. Of course then you need a doctor to submit a legthy application about something they know absolutly nothing about. (I don't even have a doctor any more as they proved dangerous to my health). I shipped Isocort in 3 months ago and it is still in customs waiting to get shipped back to the US. I have no idea how I'm going to get it now, and the time for refund form the company has expired. I irony of it all is I have the freedom to smoke, drink and ingest any poison if I like, but don't have the freedom to import a supplement to regain my health. Guest guest
Yikes! That's horrid. Do you have friends in another country that does allow import or sells it in-country? Could they order some & then you go visit them, pick it up & bring it back? How vigorously does Customs inspect checked luggage if you brought, say, 12 bottles with you (1 year supply)? > As another assault on our health freedoms, South Africa has introduced legistaltion that stops EVERY medication and supplement unless you have a particular permit that you obtain, with great effort, from the Medical control council. > Of course then you need a doctor to submit a legthy application about something they know absolutly nothing about. Guest guest
>Yikes! That's horrid. This is happening all over the world. The EU is trying to introduce legislation to limit health freedoms. It is led by the pharmaceutical industry that want everything to be prescribed by a doctor. In France you already can't but Vitamin D without a prescription. The line of the drug companies is that they are protecting the public by making sure medicine is evidence-based and so unless rigorous trials have been done herbs and vitamins should be policed. That means all herbs and supplements. Legislation was almost passed by our Minster of health 2 years ago that would have stopped ALL sales of supplements. ALL of them. Fortunately it was stopped as most of our people consult traditional healers, sangoma's (witch doctors) At the same time the drug companies are buying up smaller competition and keeping the name of the vitamin companies unchanged. They also but the distribution companies and decide what products to stock. Do you have friends in another country that does allow import or sells it in-country? Yes, that is what we have to do as people come out from the UK they bring us stuff. If anyone in the UK would help with an address so that we can post supplements to that would be helpful (isocort, armout and cortef). I would be grateful as I can pass it to others that need it(please email me privately). Then when someone comes from the UK we can get them to bring it. If I did not treat myself I would not be better. I won't trust an average doctor to help many of clients. Pity, as all we need a doctor for is to help get isocort, cortef and desiccated thyroid. At the moment we don't have an exceptional doctor. We have a dentist who is willing to do everything we request. If supplements are mailed registered post it gets through most often. But the financial risk prevents experimentation. I find this very frustrating, controlling and just plain wrong. Dean
