Guest guest
My v pain has been burning and itching. I can have sex without pain, but if use reg. condoms, they will cause me to burn. Have to use Avante non latex condoms. I believe that I am slightly gluten intolerant, yeast intolerent and intolerant of cow's milk. I really have a screwed up digestive system as well. The burning and itching started after going on the pill after not being on it for 11 years. Then the VV started along with peri-menopause symptoms and food intolerance. What has helped. 1. Candida diet with Nystatin oral fungal-Had absolutely no BURNing at all after 4 months of being on the diet. Burning came back at holiday time when I ate tons of Holiday cookies. 2. going off of birth control pills 3. Avoiding soaps and creams in the area. 4. Benedryl 5. Making sure I stay regular, if I get constipated, I can get some burning. 6. YEAST ARREST BORIC acid suppositories 7. DHEA pill, Testosterone cream. 8. Avoiding stressful situations.See what's new at AOL.com and Make AOL Your Homepage.
Guest guest
My vulvar pain has been mostly in the clitoris that developed suddenly 5 years ago. I have pain upon contact, especially sex, and also have had a constant ache for periods of time. The constant ache is under control, but the pain from contact isn't. I also can't wear jeans or do certain exercises. 1. Ayurvedic herbs for the topical pain and inflammation2. A proper diet3. Staying out of stressful situationsOn 9/13/07, Chelle < elliottmag@...> wrote: Hi Ladies, I've been kicking around an idea that I think 'might' be helpful. Maybe, just maybe we'll be able to see a pattern or a trend here. Would you please write a 'brief' description of your vulvar pain symptoms and then list 1-3 treatments (in that order) you've tried that have helped your Vulvar pain the most? It can be meds, diet, surgery, PT, steroids, alternative meds (any and everything) doesn't matter....just list what has helped. And if 'nothing' has helped you so far, don't give up hope... Here goes: My vulvar pain has been mainly to the left side, it began with a raw irritation that developed suddenly many yrs ago. Can't wear tight clothes, especially jeans, definitely have contact pain but I've had 24/7 in the past as well, that is for the most part under control (flare at times). What's helped me the most: 1.) Topical Estrace Cream (by far has been the best help). 2.) Antihistamines (use Hydroxyzine 50 mg's at night). 3). Lidocaine gel (2% with a dab of 5% ointment) before sex. Who's next? Hugs, ~Chelle
Guest guest
Mine started 3 yrs ago with a nontypical vaginal yeast infection. Critter was positively id'd once, Candida albicans dublienisis. Basically it causes more pain and less itch than the normal variety. Tried, monistat, diflucan, terazol cream (reacted really bad to this) to no effect. Ended up on boric acid suppositories for a long time. When I finally went off of the b.a., my vulvar burning, redness and inflammation jumped to 5 in less than 24hrs. I stopped wearing jeans and started sitting on the couch. Diagnosed with vulvodynia Sept. '06. 24/7 vulvar burning, pain level at a constant 5+/-, pasty acidic discharge (lots of wbc and mast cells present) At that time I did the following: 1) internal physical therapy, resting pelvic floor rate was ~15uV at the time(normal is <2uV) 2) estrace 1x/dy 3) lidocaine 5% 1x/dy 4) biofeedback 5) Glazer's kegel protocol. 6) Cold beer bottle for easing pain. Within 6 weeks I felt 95% better. I had sex 3 times and road my mtb 2x. Then I got hit with another vaginal yeast infection (I believe it was from using olive oil as a lube) that wouldn't culture out. Pain went from 0.5 to a 7. It took 6 weeks of hell before I cultured positive. Recent treatment since then (Dec-Jan) 1) weekly diflucan 150mgs, to keep yeast in check 2) Went to a new pt who also does myofacia release (wonderful)Trying to keep up with stretches to stay loose. 3) tried nor-triptyline. Brain fog hell. Stopped that drug. 4) Currently on doxepin, 29.5mgs Minimal side effects. 5) lidocaine 5% as needed. I usually use it AM/PM. Currently I am comfortable most of the time. Pain level is less than 1. I can ride my bike for 1hr with a bi-saddle, with very little irritation. I can not have intercourse. Last time I tried (~2 1/2 weeks ago) my pain shot back up and it didn't calm down for more than a week. Most sexual activities will leave me sore. I was able to climb my first real mountain in 90'F heat in August, with no pain. Over 8 hours of difficult conditions. I just can't have normal sex. Guest guest
After reading Sheila's post, how could I forget!! One thing that must have helped me is diet! Because after that appointment today and being told I'm doing much better, I remembered that I recently gave up gluten, most dairy and sugar, and all processed foods! Totally worth it.
