Guest guest
Dear , I have used Rowasa and it works but you have to be consistent with it. It's a pain in the ass for sure but good medicine. Guest guest
My wife Tina took this when first diagnosed with UC. Worked very well, however the only side effect she had was cold chills for about 15 min after useage. -- - In , " mariapamom " wrote: > > Has anyone done the Rowasa enemas for their UC? Yes, it is embarassing at first, my mother wanted to help me, but I was determined to figure this out on my own. Afterall I was 35. I read and re-read the instructions, went in to the bathroom, laid down relaxed a bit and tried to follow the directions. I eventually figured out where my ass hole was and how to insert the tip w/o out killing myself. Vaseline is a must. I laid on a big towel, for me it was winter so I also had the heat on and that felt good and comforting, because the tile floor in the bathroom was cold. Although the idea is to hold the medication in for as long as possible, my lower intestine was so irritated it lasted all of about 20 seconds and I was up and on the toilet. But I was supposed to do this twice a day and actually you just try for a few seconds longer each day. Eventually you can get to mintues even. :-) A little embarassemnt at first is worth saving your colon. Your body is a wonderful thing, and preserving it is instinct, so just think of it that way. I have not had trouble since and at that time they were talking removal. They only sent me home because it was christmas. I am currently on steriods and azacol to keep UC under control. I had been hospitalized and did not eat food for 11 days. good luck! beth ann dalrymple uc and psc 1978 LTX 1/30/2006
