Hey all,

Just wanted to let everyone know, if you haven't heard already, that

the Ambulance Strike Team Leader Course is tentatively scheduled for

the end of March (28th & 29th) that is being put on by Dr. Moriber

(who is our medical director @ Hawley VFD) and is sponsored by TEEX.

They have successfully presented this course to areas of Texas

including San , Austin, Tyler, Dallas, Corpus Christi,

Harlingen, Houston, and El Paso. Dr. Moriber was able to procure

monies to have the course in Abilene which in itself will be

beneficial for the entire West Texas area. This course must be

completed before the end of March and have therefore set the date as

the 28th and 29th of March. It is 16 hours and offers 16 hours credit.

It is open to all grades of EMT's and firefighters alike. TEEX is

willing to waive the ICS 300 prerequisite till after the ASTL Course

completion, but will have to be completed at some later date . Also,

Dr. Moriber is additionally working on procuring an ICS 300 and 400

Course for the Big Country and West Texas area for April and May. As

supervisory personnel, you are aware of its requirement. There will be

no charge for either of these courses but there will be a charge of

$30.00 for each attendee to cover breakfast and lunches for the 2 days

if you want to eat. If you could discuss this with your personnel and

other interested providers and determine the interest in coming to

this event I would greatly appreciate it. I would like to anticipate

an outstanding turn out for this event to the benefit of the West

Texas area. I would appreciate a response as to the number of

attendees and names to submit to Dr. Moriber by the 16th of March, if

possible, so that he can submit them to TEEX. This is also necessary

to provide sufficient instructors for the event as well as plan for

meals. The course will be held at Abilene Regional Medical Center most

likely from 8a-5p. If you are going to be in the area and would like a

course brochure or have any questions, please feel free to contact me

anytime 24/7.

Thanks

Allman
