Guest guest
I have never made yogurt from goats milk but I have heard that there is more liquid in goats milk than cow. Have you tried using a double layer of cheesecloth to line a colander to drip the yogurt? Carol CD 21 yrs SCD 4.5 yrs From: BTVC-SCD [mailto:BTVC-SCD ] On Behalf Of valeriec68 I just found out I am allergic to Caesin so I switched to goats milk for making my yogurt. I must say I like it better. The one thing is when I drip the cows milk yougurt overnight it comes out more the consistency of sour cream and rolls off the towel into the tupperware. When I drip the goats milk yougurt it comes out soupier. It does NOT roll off the towel. I was actually able to drain more water by squeezing the goats milk yougurt in the rag with my hand!!! Do I need to use a towel that lets more liquid through? I don't want to got too far with that either. I don't seem to get as much as I do with cows milk yougurt. I make it in the yougart makers for over 24 hours, never exceeding 29 hours. I use the YoGourmet Starter. Any suggestions to make it better or reasons why this is different? Goats Milk is more expensive than cows milk and I would like to get this right sooner rather than later?
