Guest guest
Hi, I used Asacol when I conceived, throughout my pregnancy and while breastfeeding. I was told it was a class B drug. Optimum best would have been a class A. You need to talk to your doc about what will and will not pass through the placenta and through the breastmilk. If it does go through the breastmilk, how does it affect the baby. I was OK with Asacol. Find out what your options are and how they stack up against the milk and placenta. Personally, I would do the diet and start off gently. Pecanbread.com has a great food introduction plan. Take Care, Val > > > > At the moment I am coming off prednisone (the only drug I am on for my UC). I have only been on strict SCD for 3 months. I am down to 2.5 mg of prednisone and feel myself starting to flare already. Any hints on coming off drugs? Don't want to go on any others because I badly want to have a baby.... Should I go back to intro diet at this critical time? ANY INFO ON UC DRUGS AND PREGNANCY? The next step would be Imuran I guess, because I can't take sulfasalazine or mesalazine due to their effects on my liver and kidneys, but they weren't working anyway... > > >
