Guest guest
While I too hate to see Dr. B leave I do respect his right to do so for whatever his reason is even if I might be more inclined to agree to disagree with him on the reasons he states. I would add however. That on this list we have 1200 Members (last I looked months ago) and if 50 have posted anything in the past 30 days I'd be surprised it was that many. My Pontiac here is that anyone can post and I would tend to think that 1200 EMS folks have to have some EMS topic that pops to mind yet a thousand lurkers. Some will say if I post someone might flame me and the like and I do " get that " but well it's never bothered me as I have always had a delete key and very few E-Mails have caused me harm and even if a few " hurt " I got over it. It's not like posting here is singing naked on Broadway. It is however much like why out of 50,000 EMS Providers we see only . 01 % who are willing to even join a state EMS Association let alone be Active. Louis N. Guest guest
You are exactly right in that statement. It is a shame that he had to leave becasue he did contribute. And like you siad most don't care to or won't. But the ones that do learn from or assist in teaching and those are the ones that truly care. B.S is B.S and we all have, dish and listen to it. But at times it jsut gets to be tooooo much. I understand and stand behind him in his decisions. I look forward to seeing and getting involved in future discussions. > It is a shame that it came to this to show that the a little bit of > insulance, will drive people to give up on things that actually > means alot to them. Guest guest
The sad part is so many times when the so called lurkers come out they become stars in these kinds of lists. As I said I've been very active in these things for a long time I have surely pissed folks off and I've been pissed. I've learned and I've been told by some folks I've educated dealing with the BS is a part of it and it's never gonna change but as I indicated the EMS side of the thing seems to be even more BS filled. Guest guest
I have put my two cents in before and will continue. I listen to the BS as it is given. I stand behind my morals and not push BS on others even in conversations. I have seen EMS grow and with it the new interns we get have some less that enthusiastic drive than I or probably you did when you started. Thus the BS grows with a little bit of arrogance as well. Still I think that questions are good and answers are good here with the intelligence that the group brings with it. > > > It is a shame that it came to this to show that the a little bit of > > insulance, will drive people to give up on things that actually > > means alot to them. Guest guest
I think I see more gung ho Newbies today than in the nit so recent and recent past. They seem to fall into two catagories over time. 1) the love the field and climb the ladder till they plateu in EMS and move on to nursing etc. 2) they do the sane and become very disilluioned and just leave for totally different fields.
