Subject: Starting a Middle School Age Social Skills GroupTo: sList Date: Tuesday, February 14, 2012, 9:49 AM

I have an 11 year old son who is very high functioning ASD. His ABA therapist has suggested a social skills group for him. Can't find anything in Broward that fits his needs, so Dr. Lubin has agreed to begin a program at his center (Children's Center for Development and Behavior, Sunrise). Ideally the kids in the group would have a diagnosis of Asperger's, age 10-14, who have behavior issues and need to work on appropriate social skills. My son's behaviors have interfered with his ability to be in a mainstream classroom, and since he is looking at middle school next year, he needs others with whom he can be himself, find friends, and work on his skills as we face puberty...YIKES! We Love, Love, Love this center and Dr. Lubin has done wonderful work with my son one-on-one. Now it is time to move into a group situation (problem area). I'm not sure what insurances they accept, but we have CMS Title 21 and there have been no problems. If anyone is

interested, please contact me, or Donna at the Center: , or Dr. Lubin: dlubin@....
