Guest guest
Not weird as far as I am concerned. I too have my flour, grains and beans in glass jars and in my pantry, but at one time they were on shelves out in the open and I loved the way my kitchen looked. There's just something "earthy" about seeing scratch making ingredients. We've put up applesauce and peaches too, and actually froze the applesauce in seal-a-meal bags, and they lasted at least a year. But we also had them in canning jars too. I REALLY miss those days. :-( Hugs, Jackie Subject: .... Guest guest
I use local honey in my tea for allergies and tummy problems - I always recycle the jars to my sister with the big garden - then she just gets canning rings and lids hopefully the fruit trees bear this year - the garden is huge and she will can or make jelly on anything that isn't nailed down she told me the latest addition to the pack - a lab / elkhound - bigger than the schnausers - and Herrn weights in at 120 lbs add Max - a pedigree that goes AWOL 8 hours a day - he is a herder - only the neighbors don't like it number 1 daughter tore a big piece out of the carpet - she got swatted for her misbehavior by Mom and was quite indignate - even Dad got mad - he hasn't listened to her misbehavior because he was at work - the last 2 weeks he has had pneumonia and isn't getting better - of course he is not listening to the doctor - doc said stop smpking - COPD and pneumonia don't do well together so that makes 7 and counting - people keep dumping dogs in the country God, grant me the strength of eagles wings, the faith and courage to fly to new heights, and the wisdom to rely on his spirit to carry me there. Guest guest
Was going to say until my pinky hit the wrong button and it sent before I was finished.....arghh, hate that when it happens, and I don't even know which key it is, one on my left is all I use, and none of them say enter...... Anyhow,......we use to have quite a few fruit trees, and a big garden area, even a grape arbor when we first moved here. Got to be too much upkeep, pruning, etc.....so last year we had all but the apple taken out. :-( I am hoping we can hit the local farms around here and then freeze the produce in season.
