Guest guest
at least at some level, *ALL* persons who present for care, either direct to the ED or to 911 are worthy of our time...at least long enough for a reasonable evaluation of their condition. Now, what level of evaluation is appropriate is fraught with problems. Personally, by the time I had finished a brief history and physical, 4 times out of 5, I had enough information to formulate a basic treatment plan without further testing....and in over half of those cases, the argument was if we should divert those folks to the walk in clinic at that time or just go ahead and begin treatment with follow up with their primary care provider... ck In a message dated 10/1/2009 11:26:07 Central Standard Time, ExLngHrn@... writes: I think this something... But, this list has turned dark with political and religious arguments and statements. Religious arguments are akin to kids arguing who has the best imaginary friend. We all have our political persuasions and these are a part of who we are. Yet, they rarely pertain to the practice of EMS and intellectual discussion. Texas is in a slump, yet we are faring better than much of the country (the unemployment rate in Las Vegas is 14%). This list is now nothing but politics, innuendo, and argument. There are posts about GETAC which, in my experience, is a totally inert advisory group. Hopefully, things will improve. I will still be a a part of Texas EMS as my schedule allows and will be speaking at the Texas EMS conference in Fort Worth (and in Austin thereafter). But, I have to say adios to Texasems-l. My computers (I have several in different locations) and my iPhone is filling with pure drivel. This list is voluntary=2 0and people can post what they want. The beauty of this list is that if you don¹t like what you are seeing, you can sign off. Therefore, I am signing off. C¹est la vie.... Guest guest
I agree and I've only been on this list since shortly before nremt changed the skills sheets a few months ago. I've gotten to the point I just delete the emails and don't read them. I joined to see what nremt was doing since I was about to test. All this back and forth as bryan mentioned reminds me of my 2 sisters who fight everyday.. D. Guest guest
It happens from time to time. Anyone who has been on this list for any length of time will attest to that. Although I hate to see the Right Reverend Bledson take a sabatical, I don't have to worry about missing him too much, I know where he lives...... Guest guest
It is a shame that it came to this to show that the a little bit of insulance, will drive people to give up on things that actually means alot to them. I have seen the drive in Mr. Bledsoe and it is a shame to lose his thoughts on the field that we all got in knowing what we were becoming involved in. I hope this lose brings to light the actual reason we do what we do. I wish you lots of luck and know that your insight will be missed. > > I have followed Texasems-l for years and will sometimes post something I > think is of interest and will sometimes try and inject some humor.
