Guest guest
hi there can only answer quick now but soup meats eggs are all intro and well cooked carrots-4 hours you can do it w/o dccc and yog machine i didn't do well with dccc and took months to add yogurt - go slow -do intro for 2-5 days tops then add 1 new food/supplement/vit -whatever 1 at a time for 2-4 days each good luck eileen 17 months scd > > I haven't started the diet yet, as I haven't received my yogurt maker or DCCC. Is it possible to start without those or is it best to have them first? Is it safe to eat yogurt, DCCC and Cheese cake if I have UC in the intro? I'm currently on PRED and ASACOL and seriously can't wait to start the intro, I'm just a little confused on how to go about it. Should I just eat chicken soup or is adding the broiled beef patty and fish okay, too? Also, when I'm done with the intro, I can go straight to the recipes excluding some stuff that you can add after a few weeks and months. > > For UC SCDers: What did you eat on your intro? > > One more question: Does everyone who starts the SCD diet have that 2-3 month flare? or has anyone done the diet without the relapse happening? > > I have the book and have been reading over and over, I'm still just a little confused on how to start and how to start adding things after I complete the intro. > > Any info would be appreciated. > > Thanks, > Liza > UC - 2 1/2 Years (In remission for one year med free, then it came back when I drank OJ). Took Pred and Asacol for a month when I was first DX's and then I went into remission. Started Pred again (40 taper) In Jan 2009 and haven't been able to be fully in remission again. Tried Canansa and no go for that med. Also took cortenema for awhile and now back on 20 mg pred (taper) and 6 asacol. I hope being on the pred and asacol don't affect me when I start the diet. >

I was fine with DCCC in the intro, but you will have to figure that out for yourself. I had the cheesecake, too, with less honey, which is in the instructions. > Also, when I'm done with the intro, I can go straight to the > recipes excluding some stuff that you can add after a few weeks and > months. No, go to pecanbread.com stages, which will help you figure out how and when to add what: http://www.pecanbread.com/new/scdfoods1.html 1/2 way down. use as a guide to adding in new things, not something you have to follow precisely. > > > For UC SCDers: What did you eat on your intro? things that were on the list. go slow on the yogurt, I overdid it, because the instructions for starting slow weren't clear to me, and it caused me to react badly, so start with like a teaspoon or tablespoon and increase slowly from there for the first two weeks or so. > > > One more question: Does everyone who starts the SCD diet have that > 2-3 month flare? or has anyone done the diet without the relapse > happening? Well, you are more likely to if you have UC than other things. Big help, right. OTOH, that may not be the case if you are also on LDN. I can't swear to that, though - just hypothesizing for the instant. > > > I have the book and have been reading over and over, I'm still just > a little confused on how to start and how to start adding things > after I complete the intro. > > Any info would be appreciated. One way to add things would be to follow this list, 1/2 way down: http://www.pecanbread.com/new/scdfoods1.html You don't have to do it to the letter - think of it as a guide, you may add things out of order, but this will help you figure it out. > > > Thanks, > Liza > UC - 2 1/2 Years (In remission for one year med free, then it came > back when I drank OJ).
