135 ferritin and weird symptoms???

For two months I have been supplementing iron 200elemental due to my low

ferritin of 25. I fasted for a week and did a blood draw this past Friday and

my results were 135. But something doesn't seem right based on my symptoms.

During the time of being off of iron I noticed I got more and more dry, hair

shedding and I felt so tired and my adrenals would ache. By Saturday I decided

to take the iron again and the tiredness immediatley disappeared and by the

second day my dryness is going away.

Then Monday I see my level is 135. I am thinking why am I feeling horrible if I

am at 135??? Is this correct?

I am trying to half my iron dose and I can tell I am feeling tired, dry, hair

shedding etc...

Would this be caused because I was on so much iron and getting off is shocking

my system? Or the ferritin isn't correct and I need to do a iron panel to see

what is really going on?

If I do the full iron panel do I have to fast the iron again for a week?

Thanks,

I would definitely get an iron panel done. Sounds like your ferritin is falsely elevated. Are you having trouble with inflammation somewhere? You would have to stop the iron for 5 days again to check the iron panel :(

Also when I was off the iron, my temps were dropping down to 97.2 which is very

low for me. When I got back on iron, the temps began to go back up to 98.1

which is normal. I am thinking this must to a false reading or something based

on my symptoms and temps.

I was afraid I would have to stop the iron for another 5 days!!!

I don't think I had inflammation, I wasn't sick, fever or anything. Just by the

time I had to draw the blood I was so tired, dry, etc.. hypo and adrenals

feeling stressed from it. Maybe that was causing the false?

Not really sure. Did you stop iron rich foods, no cooking in iron pans, etc? Something must be going on though for you to feel so poorly after not supplementing. Maybe give yourself a week or two before trying again?

I continued to eat what I normally eat when my ferritin used to be a 25. It was

a gradually decline as I waited to get my blood drawn. I am at T3 60mcg now.

When I take my iron, my temps go up, I start to feel better.
