Guest guest
I did mine online, and they provided the options to choose from there.. I choose the 125, cause I don't want to lose any minutes that I don't use.... just in case.. could end up in the hospital and they charge and arm & a leg for phone service there.. cell phone would be good.. fire it up and be able to talk to people.. the hospital I'd be in for an exacerbation has internet access for patients.. not quite WEP secure like it is here at home.. but secure enough to do what I'd want to do while there.. but I don't have Skype so.. the cell will be nice for that.. it does have text capabilities, but at 1 minute per text, I don't think text will be a real option for me.. not with the novels I write anyway.. LOL.. It will be interesting to see what type of phone they send though.. and I'm thinking as well, since it's tracfone cards one can buy to "up" their minutes should they find need to (I doubt that will happen either.. too 'spensive) it will be running on the Verizon Network too.. but I guess I'll find out once the phone arrives.. Might use the text options after a few months of accumulating some minutes.. But so long as it's got enough minutes should I have an emergency here and can't use the house phone.. it'll all be good.. HUGS |)onna When you get yours, log in and check out the plans, mine gives me 125 mins a month and has rollover, there is a 62 min a m0nth plan and that one also has rollover and includes oversea calling (which I don't need, so I opted for the extra minutes) there is also a 250 a month plan but no rollover. Mine also includes texting, check out the plans and pick the one best suited to you. Because of the rollover I now have something like 1,180 mins accumulated...        ~*~Hugs~*~ ~*~Akiba~*~ Pragmatic Visionary http://www.affiliates-natural-salt-lamps.com/pages/156.php -------Original Message-------  From: |)onna Date: 4/27/2011 3:30:13 PM To: MSersLife Subject: Re: How is everyone?  Cell phones are nice.. I'm finally going to be getting my safelink phone. HAD to use Bill's address (and heck most of my medical stuff is going out there anyway, since the insurance company just can't seem to get it that I don't live there.. I live here and he lives there.. LOL).. and I did ask him if I could use the address. Safelink won't send one to my address because according to them.. my address doesn't exist.. even though we've lived here together for 7 of the past 11 years.. and other than the time spent at my apartment down the block and over two.. has lived 59 of his 60 years right cheer in that ole house next door (well.. he's been in this one for 7 years with me now).. We still don't exist according to Safelink's look up on the USPS lookup site.. Can't send it to the niece's house, since that household already has 1.. so... I explained the program to Bill, and asked if I could use his address to have my phone shipped to... He's working, and healthy so isn't going to need one... at least not in the foreseeable future.. and he agreed that I did need a cell here with me.. for when these storms pass through and somehow always manage to take out my power (except the last two).. for a couple of three or more days.. battery back up on the house phone only lasts 8 hours.. and then it's ONLY if you don't pick the thing up and use it.. LOL (found that out the hard way)... Once I have that phone in hand, I will feel much much safer, as I'm sure you do with Robbin having one with him at all times as well... The only thing I could think of when the "micro-burst" ripped through between us and the neighbors house -- didn't touch either of our houses but did take out the top of a huge tree at the end of our property and broke the neighbor across the road's cherry tree in half!.. -- but the only thing I could think of was me & the puppies & the birdie laying in a pile of rubble with no way to get in touch with anybody.. cause my neighbors sure aren't going to check on me.. (well maybe, but not real likely when the lady of the house will walk up her sidewalk and pretend not to see me in the power chair on the porch.. while my dogs are barking at her). But that's neither here nor there.. Now if only StraightTalk could get a little bit better with figuring out their problems.. but then I guess most people don't upgrade their phones AND request to have their number migrated (along with the newly purchased minutes) to the new phone.. But I do love StraightTalk.. they run off the Verizon network here (or at least where we registered the most use of the phone -- it's 's for work) and we'll be starting to purchase the unlimited plan each month.. $45 plus a dollar or two in tax for unlimited everything.. AND he gets signal in places that he never had signal with Sprint.. so we've got way more coverage for way way way way less money (over $100 per month for our two phones with Sprint, and then we had to share 700 minutes!.. no web.. and it was $10 or $20 extra for unlimited text on my phone.. HAD to take that, cause they didn't tell me that I could block incoming text messages.. only that it would cost me 10 or 20 cents for each incoming.. -- even if I didn't get the Safelink phone.. we could still do 2 phones for $90 a month, and actually we could probably only do the 1000 minutes on mine and get away with even less each month than we had tied up in Sprint's lousy service)... But I ramble.. Love the Food Glorious Food post.. and happy to hear that Robbin is out getting some exercise and then hopefully a cool dip in the pool.. and has a phone on him just in case.. (and maybe instead of calling you if something should go awry... he should dial 911 and tell them he's being kidnapped or taken away against his will.. as his first call) HUGS |)onna That's what I figured. Plus Rob is 1,000 miles away from here so I am pretty sure Robbin WILL be coming home...if he were in town there is no way...but either way Robbin has his little cell phone on him (just hope he doesn't repeat what he did last time he went to the pool without me...and jumped in with the phone IN his pocket...they replaced it, though, thank goodness...)        ~*~Hugs~*~ ~*~Akiba~*~ Pragmatic Visionary http://www.affiliates-natural-salt-lamps.com/pages/156.php -------Original Message-------  From: |)onna Date: 4/27/2011 12:42:02 PM To: MSersLife Subject: Re: How is everyone?  I wish I could say only once last night.. I consider myself extremely lucky if it's only twice.. and that doesn't happen often... maybe it was the Cranberry juice I had with dinner last night.. or maybe it was just the fact that I was sleeping good, when I was sleeping, and the MonSter didn't like that one little bit, so would kick start the bladder just as I fell into a REM cycle or something.. LOL Doesn't hurt them to be out and about working either... the kid, not the MIL...  learn the ethic young.. so that they don't think they are too good to work hard later.. HUGS |)onna I hearya...seriously...and last night I only went once... I have on the second patch, will be wearing it for another hour or so. Silly things seem to work better *after* I take them off, but then again it IS time-release... Robbin is off with his granny Elaine, helping her with her lawn care biz. Trying to instill a work ethic into the lad, something his dad never got. They'll work until it gets too hot then go get a sammy then hop into the clubhouse pool...so I probably won't see him till well into the afternoon...don't know if she will pay him but I told him to work like he's getting $20 an hour either way. After all, she DOES take us to the store, the Dr...on her gas. I did tell her that when my SSI comes in I am going to give her some $$ to help pay for all the gas. I think that surprised her, but it is only fair...    ~*~Hugs~*~ ~*~Akiba~*~ Pragmatic Visionary http://www.affiliates-natural-salt-lamps.com/pages/156.php -------Original Message-------  From: |)onna Date: 4/27/2011 10:30:47 AM To: MSersLife Subject: Re: How is everyone?  Probably a combination of all of those things.. but it really doesn't matter which if any or all of them are working.. so long as the pain is going away!!! and I'm glad to hear that it is.. I'm not quite sure which is worse.. mouth or neck pain.. might both be equally as horrific! I remember having a 'bout with neck pain a couple of years back.. I laid on the bed, face buried in a pillow (well top part of my head, otherwise I'd have suffocated) to try and get some relief -- at the time I figured misalignment -- ended up calling our chiropractor, pretty much begging for any time he could afford me (and doesn't make appointments... unless it's for work and the boss asks him specifically to do so.. <grin>) Even after all his stimulation stuff & massaging techniques and stuff.. he couldn't get but one tiny little "pop" out of the neck. He suggested that it was possibly that everything was just so tightened up that no amount of massage-n-things was going to relax the neck enough to manipulate it.. I went back the next day, and the next.. to no avail.. I did get a bit of relief for the heat & massage, at least I wasn't begging for someone to "shoot me now" type deal.. After 3 or so trips to see him.. he tended to agree with me (especially after the muscles had relaxed enough that he "should" have been able to manipulate AND he couldn't find anything out of alignment) that it was most like the MonSter rearing his ugly head... That's the sad part of living with the MonSter.. something we think of as simply a "stiff neck" might not actually be coming from having slept the wrong way.. and we waste way too many hours/days thinking it will go away come tomorrow.. and we tend to think, as well, that if we run to the doctor because of something that could be quite simple the doc will begin to consider us a hypochondriac type person... Hope the doc was able to at least do something to help relieve your pain and that you're feeling better this morning... HUGS |)onna On 4/25/2011 12:56 PM, Akiba wrote: Thank you.
