Guest guest
I'm confused. From my understanding, ACTH range of 5-27 is the new flawed range that some labs are using. 5-58 is the preferred range. From and what I've read, healthy ACTH should be around 50. I just got mine back too. It was 18 and the lab guy on the phone said, you're in range, so you're normal. Just got my First Acth Test results back from last week. ACTH 36 Normal 5-27 They said blood cortisol was within normal range though but didn't give me a number. I will get that when I go in for followup next monday. But would really appreciate all of your advice on it being high. Thank you Donna --------------------------------- Looking for last minute shopping deals? Find them fast with Yahoo! Search. Guest guest
It can come back " normal " but that doesn't mean it is optimal. Have you had salvia tests done to see what your cortisol levels are? It's possible that your adreanals are able to make cortisol under extreme stress, but just can't manage to make enough on a day to day basis. And just because the pituitary is working properly doesn't mean the adenals are. In fact that is why we get adrenaline rushes. The pituitary is asking for cortisol, but the adrenals can't make enough so they send out adrenaline instead. HTH. Rie A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. Herm Albright > I'm confused.
