Guest guest
, There were a few things I wanted to reply to you on. Please bear with me if I repeat anything anyone else has said. :-) First you need to be off of any HC or adrenal supplements for at least 2 weeks before doing the salvia test or the results will be skewed. This is important. If you are in one of the later stages of adrenal fatigue, you will probably need to take HC to help get better. Adrenal support by itself will sometimes help in the early stages, but not usually the later stages. Hypoglycemia can be associated with low cortisol too. That may be where that symptom comes from. I don't remember anything about Armour supressing adrenal function. This is how I understand it. Your body must have cortisol to get the T3 into your cells. If you are adrenal fatigued the thyroid hormone can't get into the cells properly and sits in the blood stream looking pretty. Having poor thyroid function can stress the adrenals and contribute to fatigue though. From what I understand, you get problems (thyroid dumps) when you are on thyroid replacement and start taking HC if you ramp up too quickly or vice versa. When you start taking the HC your body can all of a sudden actually use all that T3 sitting in your blood, so it does, all at once. You then get a rush or hyper feeling. This is why people go slowly increasing everything and one reason why many take their Armour in 3-4 small doses throughout the day. If you have your results or can post them, Val is a whiz at giving advice and giving you a direction to go in if not outright predicting what they will find with other tests. :-) Also, keep in mind that too much excercise can put extra stress on your adrenal glands. If your body can't produce much cortisol, you are probably running off of adrenaline. Which is not really good for a long term thing. I hope this helps some. :-) Cherie > In Jan 07, I found a great FNP in Wilmington, NC-- , > who knows more than the endocrinologist, whom I no longer see.
