Guest guest
Nicotine is a drug that increases dopamine in the brain. I never heard of this use, but, since nicotine is really a drug, it would be interesting to know how this works, and if there are some more natural safer alternatives. Or maybe my body has some left over residue it is trying to kick out. A lot of UC people are ex-smokers. I was just wondering if any one else noticed a kick up in the cravings. > > Thanks, > val > > > > > From: Carol Pompilo > Subject: RE: Craving Cigarettes - I think > To: BTVC-SCD > Date: Monday, June 29, 2009, 7:33 AM > > > > > > > > > > > The doctor who diagnosed me told me that nicotine helps patients with UC, but is really bad for CD. I had quite for at least 2 years, but occassionally smoked any way. The last time I had a cigarrette was 4 years ago. Has anyone else experienced this kind of craving? I really feel like it has something to do with detoxin. > > Just a question. Guest guest
From a smoker who can't stop--dark chocolate or weak diluted coffee would be a much safer alternative. You won't get the benefits from nicotine you think--just a 'crack' habit ;-). There has to be something else to fill that craving.
