Guest guest
Hi Tom, I was considering going to NH for that nerve conduction test and nerve blocks. My question is, if this is a symptom of levator ani and not pudendal neuralgia would it hurt to get the nerve conduction test done, I don't want to get worse! Guest guest
Carolyn, No, THe L.A syndrome discribes the symptoms that you experince when the L.A muscle is in a state of increased tone. Pudendal Neuralgia is a rather non-specific term used when the pudendal nerve is "suspected" as being injured, entraped or otherwise too excitable. I say suspected becuase other than a nerve conduction study, there is no way to determin this. If you haven't had the test, then they cannot confirm the diagnosis and are just making a S.W.A.G. (scientific, Wild-Ass Guess.) :-\ TKOPT Carolyn52192@... wrote: Whats the difference between Pudendal Neuralgia and Vulvodynia? as you probably read, I get this fist like feeling in my anus, that I read can happen with Levator ani and also Pudendal Neuralgia, is it the same thing????? Guest guest
Carolyn, The conduction tests are quite uncomfortable... so if you ask will it hurt??? Yes it will hurt. Will it cause damage that makes your situation worse in the long run? NO, not likely..
