The general rule of thumb for stress dosing for illness is to

double whatever HC form. The flu acts by lowing cortisol by messing

with ACTH production, so for the flu you might want to dose even

more, although ramping it DOWN afterwards might be tricky, as the HPA

would be suppressed partly because of the cortisol, and presumably

also centrally by the flu's effect on the pit.

Should you stress dose thyroid (or increased T3 or T4 specifically

with Cytomel, Synthorid) in an illness? I'd imagine the immune cells

would need more T3 simply beceause there are more of them in an

illness. Temps in illness might not necessarily tell you much, as

the immune system raises temps anyway (if it can - perhaps the

*absense* of a fever in certain situations would be a sign to

increase thyroid).
