For those of us that are hyper we know how important sleep is.... I don't know if there are any contra-indications to doing this....what does Jeffries say? (I don't have the book). " I don't have the book either, but I think I am going to order it soon. I wish I could find it used for cheaper... From what I am understanding, ACTH decreases when you are taking HC. If your adrenals are weak enough, you don't have enough reserves into the night to provide the small amount of cortisol you need. Hopefully this will change soon, while I am on HC. I have only been on it for about 2 weeks. I have only been at this dose for about 5 days. Taking the 5 mg at night definitely helped me sleep. I don't even remember falling asleep after taking it. I must have been out right away. It was the best night's sleep I have gotten in a couple weeks. I am having some problems in the morning, but I am going to wait it out and see if I adjust, instead of increasing. Val suggested this on NTHAdrenals. I am at 25 mg and that should be plenty. I am seeing an HC and Armour friendly doctor on Wed. Hopefully he can help with this, and maybe soon I can get down to 20 mg HC. Thanks, Olif
Guest guest
Olif, Just to weigh in on this, if I were in your shoes and experiencing what you are, I would take the HC when the symptoms crop up and are concerning. Hopefully the doctor you are seeing soon will be helpful with deciding how to handle the dosing. I also think this will settle out soon as your body adjusts. The one thing I saw in one of your posts this morning was you are taking rhodiola in the morning. When my cortisol was really low, I had problems taking seriphos (not an herb, but like rhodiola it is an adaptogen). This gave me low cortisol symptoms and I had to stop using it. I wonder if rhodiola could be contributing to the morning problems. I could be way off, but just a thought. -- > > Dean: > " I have not tried cortisol as late as you have.....but sleep is so important > I just might if it helped so much...... > For those of us that are hyper we know how important sleep is.... > I don't know if there are any contra-indications to doing this....what does > Jeffries say?
