hi Kristi -

I've never heard of this " slow clearance " syndrome but I am intrigued

- I cannot tolerate anything but the lowest dosages of meds, vitamins,

hormones, anything. I don't get fibromyalgia symptoms, but side

effects are just massively exaggerated as if I've taken huge amounts

of whatever it is. When I was taking Paxil years ago (an

antidepressant) I could split the 10mg pill into quarters and it would

still knock me out at night. I can't even tolerate vitamins, except

at very low doses - I end up shaky and ravenously hungry and nauseous

at the same time. The B vitamins tend to completely disrupt my sleep.

I don't have chem sensitivities and I am really not a hypochondriac -

but this always, always happens.

One thing I've heard of is the herximer reaction - in a nutshell, the

theory is that anything that causes cell die-off in your body triggers

an immune response, making you feel ill. For example, if vitamin D

helps kill off latent viruses in your system, the dead and dying

viruses trigger your immune system in the same way that the virus

would if active.

Personally, I don't know if I am 100% convinced of this theory (just

b/c I tend to be a bit of a skeptic) but it's something to consider...

unfortunately, I haven't sorted out a way to take the meds or

supplements that in theory will cure me - I gut it out for a while and

then just get too tired of feeling worse than I did before. The only

thing that I have learned is that if I keep the doses EXTREMELY low

they may have the desired effect without the bad side effects.

I hope you have better luck - keep us posted.

all the best,

So my questions are these:

on meds?

problems as I'm
