The doctor who started me on it told me I might need to be on it for life, which was ok by me because I wouldn't ever want to go back to the pain and fatigue that I was suffering before. Some people who are not as far gone as I am (was) are able to wean off of it. I will try to wean off after some time of ALA chelation.
