Guest guest
it is tough to restrict but worth it - The Yeast Connection by dr crook is what I have but this is the womans health one so interesting and would apply to him too i'm sure and is the most updated I think eileen > > Having trouble with the archives this morning - anyone else? > > Hi Eileen, > Do you have a reco for one good book or website on treating candida? I know there are a lot out there. I just read GAPS diet, and need to do more research on candida for my son. We are getting good die-off from the plan tannin supplement he is taking called Viracin (removed from capsule and put in his supplement shake), but, yes, I think I need to start eliminating fruit +/or cutting back on yeast feeders. Lots of tummy pain, frequesnt urination. So tough - his diet is already so limited. > Kind thanks, > Kim in NJ, SBS due to bowel resection Feb 03 > 2 4 yr olds, ADHD/SPD, leaky gut, k.oxytoca, candida > Transitioned to SCD from GFCF Nov/Dec 08 > All SCD Jan 1/09 >
Guest guest
once you have the results what do you do further????All tests so far cannot be taken out of New York State, or can anyone enlighten me? Thanks, candida No time to read all the messages today--so I apologize if this has been mentioned already ...but metametrix labs has a test "Dysbiosis" that is a urine test that my bosses listserve ( he's an ND, most listees are MD's & DO's ) consider to be the most accurate candida test ( stool can have false negatives as candida forms colonies, & they may not be a "colony" in the portion of stool you send for sampling..average $ of the test is ~$200 ( I say aprox, cuz our price is in CDN funds ..so may be different) hth, gisele Dell Inspiron 15 Laptop: Now in 6 vibrant colors! Guest guest
Eileen, You are talking about normal Quest testing that you did your stool tests? Right? BTW- if the values were crazy on Quest, than you really have challenging Candida issues (not that I am trying to scare you) It's just their numbers are different than the integrative labs and their incubation techniques are not as great either. You can test for Candida in blood but recently NY State made certain Candida antibody testing illegal. Thank you- this will make things that much easier NY! (ARGH!) You had your testing done a while ago so I think you had the whole thing done besides the integrative labs and urine dysbiosis huh? Hope this clears up any confusion.
