Guest guest
Peggy You are going to laugh about this... I married a man 11 years younger in 2002 and was afraid to look older at his class reunion; he also wanted me to let my hair grow, I had kept it in my short professional style because it was easy. Well I got busy and colored it. It got longer and I kept coloring. Finally I came back to my senses and let it grow out naturally and kept it long. Now it is down to the middle of my back and I wear it in dog tails and couldn't be happier except for when it gets caught in my tubing, marathon backpack straps, seat belt straps and...yes, under my arms. I trim my own bangs and only go to the shop to have my ends trimmed and evened about every six months. I think I look younger and more relaxed and I love my salt and pepper hair. some of you have been discussing washing hair. I have a Jacuzzi tub and take long relaxing soaks. I wash my hair by dipping it back in the water, lathering and rinsing. I get out of the tub by turning on my knees and putting my hands on both sides of the tub while it is still full of water and getting up is easier, I have a counter and sink to balance. Maybe some day I will put in a grab bar. I sit on the side of the tub to shave my legs. I put a big thick fluffy towel on the toilet seat to sit on while I dry off, comb out my hair and get dressed sitting down. I never imagined not sitting in the tub to shave my legs. A hand held shower is so easy for rinsing off and rinsing out the tub. Someone was also fretting about cleaning the tub. I have found Tilex soap scum to be best for me. A spray after each bath and rinsing with the hottest water and it is pretty clean. There is a Mr Clean tub washer on a handle that swivels that helps If I over do the bath oil. I have the people who come to clean wash out the tub jets and run dishwasher tabs through the pipes. There is a commercial product for that but I only use it occasionally since I am the only one using my tub. I also find using swiffer dusters on the bathroom floor between moping easier than dragging out the vacuum. They also have the disposable disinfecting floor mops that work fairly well. I used to get on my hands and knees and go over my floor three times to get it clean. I think I have a virus from being out, shopping in the cold yesterday made it worse. I decided to move my lap top back to it's desk, cook and play in other rooms today for a change of scenery. The cold weather is miserable on breathing. My heated garage is full of stuff so I have a remote starter to heat the car up before going out...it's always something, stiffeling in the heat or dripping nose and stiff tubing in the cold. Why can't it stay between 70 & 80 degrees somewhere... We have become so spoiled that we run from air conditioned houses to air conditioned cars to air conditioned buildings or heated... Sue, Whenever I need my hair cut and colored ( about every 5-6 weeks) the hairdresser makes certain thatno perms or other procedures are being done when I'm there. It's a very small shop so there usually aren't too manyconflicts. If there is one I change the appointment. That stuff really bothers my breathing, as do any scented products, candles, cleaning products, perfumes, shampoos etc.The bath and body shops kill me!The only aromas that do not bother me are food!!! Some of my favorites are the smell of cooking garlic and onion, baking bread, citrus of any kind. Z 65, fibriotic NSIP/o5/PA And “mild” PH/10/07 and Reynaud’s too!! So I only got half my hair colored J_ I kept using the rescue inhaler and finally it hasstopped. I have never had trouble with the smells before, but I am also getting over ( hope) an upper respiratory infection (all in my head and upper airways). I have been using a nebulizer 3 times a day to try to get this stuff out, and I guess it picked of all times to come up. I just felt drained and I am now trying to keep from the tears and feeling sorry for myself. Thanks for listening. Sue D. 63 yr old, Fibrotic NSIP dx 9/07, VA No virus found in this incoming message.
