Guest guest
Thanks for the report. I did not know where you lived in relationship to the fire. Glad it is so far away and hope they can soon get it under control. _____ From: blind-diabetics [mailto:blind-diabetics ] On Behalf Of Cy Selfridge Sent: Wednesday, June 27, 2012 8:30 AM To: blind-diabetics Subject: Colorado fires Hi Pat, Just after I shut down my computer last night they announced that 32,000 people had just been ordered to evacuate the Colorado Springs fire. They evacuated the Air Force Academy, first time ever. That fire (Waldo Canyon Fire) is amazing to say the least. It jumped over the edge of a canyon spurred on by 65 MPH winds and engulfed the community of Mountain Shadows. They have not yet said how many homes were lost because the smoke was so thick they really could ot get an accurate picture. Man, this is grim indeed. It is still about 40 miles due South of where we live. Cy
Guest guest
This has been a truly horrid experience. There are still some 32,000 people who can not go back home. I think the house count is near 600 with all of the fires. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and allow the fire fighters to do their jobs.
