Guest guest
Hi Suzanne, What is ActiveOn? Is that like HeadOn? Does using a heating pad help at all? Or how about an ice pack? I believe I am having some TMJ issues, as I wake up with ridges of tissue along my teeth edges on the sides of my cheek. The dentist said that my molars did look somewhat worn down at my last visit. If it gets worse, I can go in and they'll make me a guard to wear mostly when I sleep. Regarding that surgery you had done, did you have to have your jaw wired shut for 6 weeks while you healed? If so, my mom had that same surgery. She had a very large overbite that her parents could not afford to fix, and neither could she really. But finally the dentist told her if she didn't get her jaw aligned properly, she would never be able to have false teeth if needed when she got older, so she had the surgery. I was away at college at the time, so did not have to live with her much during that time of pure liquid diet and having to talk through her teeth. (WARNING-REALLY GROSS PART COMING UP, SKIP IF YOU WANT) She said the worst part of the whole thing was waking up from the surgery and doing what many do following surgery, vomiting, and the fear of choking/drowning in her own vomit. Yuck. Totally gross. (OK GROSS PART OVER) I hope you find some relief soon and can feel better, Suzanne. Take care. Jeanne in WI How many of you have had TMJ issues? I have read in many many places about it being common for fibro patients to have TMJ, but I was wondering about your experiences. When I was a bit younger, I had a " TMJ Disorder " which resulted in a surgical jaw manipulation. And I really must say, that is as fun as it sounds. Yeah right. Anyways, I have been having a SEVERE flare, and my jaw has started hurting. I can barely eat. My bite is WAY off, and moving my mouth at all hurts. I have been taking tylenol, muscle relaxers, and using ActiveOn, which provides *some* relief, but I can't stand this anymore. Last night I could barely sleep. All my symptoms line up with TMJ, from what I read on the Mayo Clinic site, and I was wondering if yall ever have this issue, and if so, what helps. Money is more than just tight, its very close to nonexistent. I am going to *try* to scrape together enough to go to a doc-in-a-box clinic, but that might be a bit. If anyone has any suggestions... I would appreciate it. I would just tal to my pain doctor, but I am filing a complaint with the medical board about him, he so over medicated me that I ended up in an ER because (quite literally, and in multiple senses) my body stopped functioning right. Any advice would be great --Suzanne
Guest guest
Ya ActiveOn is made by the HeadOn people... they have an extra strength made for back version that sometimes helps. No, they didnt wire my jaw, just made me not use it for awhile Thanks --Suzanne > > Hi Suzanne, > What is ActiveOn? Is that like HeadOn? > Does using a heating pad help at all?
