Guest guest
Hi tte - Welcome to our FaMily. That pain you describe sounds awful. You are fortunate that your doc will prescribe the oxycodone for you. Many of us can't get out docs to prescribe narcotic pain meds. How long have you been on the Cymbalta and Lyrica? Perhaps you need higher doses? I myself take 120mg. of Cymbalta. I divide that into 60 mg. in the morning, and 60 mg. in the evening. I have malabsorption issues with meds due to having gastric bypass surgery. I do not take Lyrica because it would conflict with another med I am on. My biggest complaint is fatigue, though. Have you ever been on Neurontin or Topomax? These are meds along the same kind as Lyrica. They are available in generic, so much cheaper, but of course everyone reacts differently to various meds. Coincidentally, my psychiatrist tried me on both the Neurontin and Topomax for controlling my mood disorder. I could not tolerate the fuzzy brain that either med gave me. Seeing a psychologist is a good thing. It always helps me to talk out my thoughts with a counselor, because then they seem to become more solid in my own mind. It makes it easier to come up with solutions. Unfortunately, I've been so fatigued the past year or two, that I cannot commit to regular appts. with a psychologist. I do see my psychiatrist for regular med check-ups, and these are still pretty frequent as we keep trying to tweak my meds to give me more energy. Physical Therapy helps some of us, and others find it doesn't help. I hope you are one of the people it helps. And I hope things go well with the rheumatologist, as sometimes they will contradict what other docs have told you, may take away meds, or try some others, so just be prepared to stand up for yourself and what you need. Sorry this got so long. Take care. Jeanne in WI HI my name is tte and I have been suffering with pain in my ankles that radiates to up as far as my upper legs. I was wondering if anyone has experienced the same thing or if this is even fibro pain. The pain use to start in my ankles and radiate all over my body, but since I have been on cymbalta and Lyrica it stops at my upper thighs. The pain in my ankles feels as if someone is sawing them off.Has anyone experienced this type of pain. I currently take 2-3, 15 mg oxycodone a day and after it takes affect it lasts 6-8 hrs and then it comes again. I just started seeing a Dr at a pain clinic and he says I need to see a psycologist, physical therapy and rhumatologist, which I am happy to do. What ever might help will be okay with me. tte
