Guest guest
Hi! I wanted to share an amazing story from Cindy who is participating in the Second Annual Virtual Walk. Cindy had told me that she did not learn of PSC Partners until after her husband, Tom, died from PSC in Oct. 2005. She was looking for an organization that focused on PSC and PSC research and found us. Tom was the director of Human Resources at Washington University and Medical Center. Cindy describes him as an amazing man with multiple diverse interests. For those of you coming to the Conference, you will better know Tom when you see the beautiful shirt that Cindy has created. I cried when she mailed me the shirt for our display. It is amazing! Hopefully Arne or another photographer can capture this incredible tribute to Tom and place it in the photo files. I had shared with the Virtual s the story about someone who I had never met donating $100. Cindy responded: " I cried over first the $50 checks, then the $100 checks, then came 2 - $200 checks and last night, the check I was waiting on from our closest friends in our cell group who moved away about 8 months after Tom died came. It was for $1,000. I cried the whole way to the fed ex drop off while I was on the phone with them. They couldn't even understand what I was saying at first. They had forgotten and I emailed them to remind them, surprised I hadn't gotten anything, but telling them that if they chose not to contribute it was okay, I loved them regardless. I did become shameless at the end I guess...but it was SO worth it. God bless our generous, caring friends and especially strangers who just want to help. Cindy " What an amazing story! Many thanks to Cindy and our other 11 Virtual s! Joanne (, Ca., mom of , 16, UC/PSC 2-06; JRA 1998)
Guest guest
Hi Joanne; I can't express how grateful I am to you, Cindy and all the other wonderful " Virtual s " who are generous donating their time, energy, and tears to raise funds to fight PSC. I was very touched by Cindy's efforts even in her grief after losing Tom. I look forward to seeing Cindy's T shirt at the conference. Best regards, Dave (father of (21); PSC 07/03; UC 08/03)
