Guest guest
Himself did the shopping on Sunday after church, so we have - All my nice 1/2 gallon jars filled with every available kind of bean (except fava. I accidentally mixed favas with limas last time, and that don't work!!!) And all shapes of whole-grain pastas And every grain we can lay hands on locally- quinoa, barley, bulgur, brown and wild rice... Everything I need for yummers breads and tortillas There are root veg in an antique crock in the corner, and bowls with tomatoes, oranges, and bananas on the counter; Canned beans, veg, and fruit for days when I'm in a hurry, and a couple jars of all-natural pasta sauce, and of course peanut butter; The fridge has an assortment of fruit juices, fruit " nectars " from Mexico, all sorts of fresh veg and 'shrooms and the like, plus milk, yogurt, and cheeses (I can't go flat vegan - have hyperinsulinism due to PCOS). The freezer has ice cube trays, a couple of bags of chicken breasts for emergencies (like one of us can't stand beans for one more night, or comp'ny) and loaves of whole grain bread. The freezer out back does have a big turkey down in the depths, buried under containers of homemade veggie, chicken, beef, and ham stock, a couple of packages of fish bits for Himself, and something over in one corner I can't identify and will throw out next defrost.... There. Don't all that sound disgustingly healthy? :-D :-D ;-D BTW, my lunch today was vegetarian refritos, extra sharp cheddar, and chopped Camari tomatoes toasted and rolled in a soft flour tortilla. Supper will be white bean soup and cheddar biscuits. in WY Practical Blackwork Designs http://practicalblackwork.com http://practical-blackwork.blogspot.com
