Hey Jean:

I agree that it is fascinating how very small the world is. I am not

exactly sure but I do think a stone is 14 lbs. I'm sure our friends

across the pond will come to the rescue soon if I have totally muffed

up this calculation.

Have a lovely day...

Hey Pam -

Just went thru same thing the past few months. I could have cared less if I

ate or not, just wasn't hungry. I'd eat something just to say I'd eaten. No

apetite. I don't know if this corresponds with anything that's going on with

you, but I found the " not hungry " feeling was associated with my thyroid

levels being lower and the TSH going up. The loss of apetite went along with

" hypo " symptoms for me. Oh - also, I wasn't losing weight either, I would

stay the same or even gain a pound of two (very unusual when I don't eat),

so I don't know if you've noticed that happening as well. Now that my TSH

has taken a dive again, all of a sudden I'm hungry again (not a good sign, I

think). You know, that hungrier than usual hunger. Does any of this jive

with what your levels are doing, or am I just weird (OK, I know I'm weird,

but is this particular thing weird)?

As for what do do about it, I'd just eat something small since I wasn't

hungry, but really caloric to make the most of what I was eating. Also had a

lot of homemade milkshakes (yum, calcium too!) That or my hubby would go out

and get food and I'd feel obligated to eat it because he spent money on it

even if I didn't really want it. He really knows how to appeal to my sense

of guilt. :) Don't worry, the apetite will come back.

(who's taking advantage of feeling hyper and painting hubby's

office before he comes home)

P.S. Found a place that got some bugleweed tincture in, have to go check it

out.

Hi Debbie,

Kudos to you for losing the weight! I've tried everything and just

continue to gain, so I can appreciate the dedication it took for you

to achieve your goals. I'm sure all the farm work you do helps too.

Do you know the total number of calories you consume each day? I'd

appreciate any tips you have for those of us still struggling with

weight loss.

Take care,

Tori

Hi Pam,

I'm not a calorie counter either. An apple with nut butter is an

excellent example of a healthy, balanced snack. I think of how much

I'd eat at a typical meal and cut it in half. Not an exact measure,

but close enough.

I've been thinking about this and maybe not being hungry is your

body's way of saying that you're feeding it what it needs and it's

not starving for nutrients anymore. I'm not nearly as hungry as I

was before I took the advice of you & others on the board and started

eating healthier.

Peace,

Tori
