Guest guest
When I was going through tests the Cancer Registrar was the support group leader and told us that MOST of the time the drs can get the results the same day over the phone. Not biopsy results as they take 3 days. I know its a fact because for one of my bone scans the dr called me back within 2 hrs of having it done. Guest guest
I had the same experience as nne - where my Dr. Had results within 24 hours. I was lucky in that he called me right away too. I wish everyone could get that benefit. Some of the other tests, Her2nu and Est measures take a little longer to culture, but the initial biopsy results were given to me the next day. I'd hate to think that anyone would have to wait weeks or even a month. ARGH. Guest guest
Velvet, You raise some good points. The reality is, I may not ever be able to complete this project, but I'm not going to prevent me from trying. I may combine some ideas that I already have with yours and a few other people. Perspective is truly a personal thing to each and every one of us. How could I ever presume to capture those perspectives in photos? I can't, and I know that. However, and I hope this doesn't come across as an argument, I do think the terror and pain, and all those things you mentioned are important, not because we want to experience them, but because they are part of the reality. The artist in me, won't turn away from the goal, but the person in me is willing to look at all the posibilites. Something else you mentioned that I'd like to address: Sales. You may not believe me, but to be quite honest, I had not even looked at that aspect of this project. This is one of a few projects I have done that " its not about the money " . If I see that I'm going to be able to complete the calendar, and I feel it is worthy of the cause, I have considered offering it to groups for fund raising, but as far as me marketing and profitting - not with this project. I hope this better explains MY perspective as I try to understand yours a little bit better. Thank you for your thoughts and sharing your feelings - it truly does help. > I'm probably not like anyone else in your group, but I would really > like to be here. Guest guest
nne, I have heard this sentiment a couple of times, although it isn't common. I aplaud you for having the strength to face your reality, although your experience is different from so many others, it is still a reality you must deal with. Thank you for your insight. > I'm probably not like anyone else in your group, but I would really > like to be here. Guest guest
, I am a 1 year survivor and like everyone has said - went through all the emotions . I think you could do a good job in depicting the fight and creating more awareness . I tried very hard to remain positive throughout my treatment. from the beginning when i was getting poked and prodded and they put blur radiation dye in me - i stayed blue for about a year . I said i was part smurf. when it came time to lose my hair - i had my friend and son shave my head . i did not cry - i made jokes . if someone said they were having a bad hair day - i said i was having a no hair day . I'm not saying it was easy - it was like being given a dose of the flu every 3 weeks . and i did cry at times - i guess my point is - there are a lot of women and men out there who are fighting hard - and having a positive attitude and a good support system may be something you will want to depict also . good luck with your project - i' look forward to seeing the end product. Guest guest
Don't be nervous I had my surgery on August 28 2006 and I have lost 60 pounds. Hi , I had my surgery August 21, 2006, but I only lost 31 lbs. I started out having to lose 100 lbs. Can I ask you how much you started out having to lose? I keep seeing so many people who had the surgery the same month as me and they lost 2 or 3 times more weight than me. Donna/NY

Guest guest
Hi : I had my surgery September 7, 2006 and I don't know the exact amount I have lost, but I know I am down at least 30 pounds (I go to my doctor for weigh in next Wednesday). I also started out needing to lose 100 pounds and I think being on the lower end of the amount of weight to lose, also means slower weight loss. How are you doing with your food? I have found that I can eat more now and I am in danger of not staying on a healthy food program. Until a few days ago if I ate too fast I would throw up and/or get the foamies. Now I seem to be able to eat more and I am really having to weigh and measure my food. I workout at least three days a week and strive for four days a week. Usually it's something with my kids that gets in the way of the fourth day of working out. It would be great to hear from others who need to lose 100 pounds and see how they have done with their weight loss in the first couple of months. 225/195/125 > > Don't be nervous I had my surgery on August 28 2006 and I have lost 60 > pounds. > > > Hi , > I had my surgery August 21, 2006, but I only lost 31 lbs.
