Guest guest
Hey Sharon and all,......this last week for me was bad pain wise, so I kept quiet most of the time. Hard for me to feel up to writing when you hurt, ya know. Anyhow the good news is the guy my husband wrote to in Japan who Steve's company does business with finally wrote back today and said everyone was okay including his family. He and the company is in S. Japan so they didn't get hit very hard. He said that N. Japan is a mess and it was hard for him to even imagine 40-ft tsunami! 40-ft!!! Not to mention the death toll of 10,000 and probably more. It is so heart breaking. Us who live in the PNW are still waiting for the "big" one which could happen any time. They showed a drawing on the news if we got the same magnitude, and height of a tsunami the wave would come in as far as Portland all the way down south to Eugene [3 hrs away]. That would hit where I live as I am only about 45 min south from Portland, and 1-1/2 hrs away from the coast. Guess we won't be retiring to the beach now! They had all the sirens going at the beach towns, and the southern town of Brookings had some marina damage. Its the closest to the Northern Ca. border. It was really scary to see that drawing. I'm glad that Jeffery is doing better. Love the names you have for your critters. Happy too that your grandson tried to cheer you by telling jokes. You have a real special family Sharon! p/s prayers to Debbi, and anyone else who needs them too. Hugs, Jackie Subject: Crappy days, emotional upheaval over Japan and other stuff......Re: Japan quake-tsunami death toll likely over 10,000To: MSersLife Date: Sunday, March 13, 2011, 12:19 PM Yep, some days are crappy but then something really, truly crappy comes along. I can't get my mind off of Japan and everything... My 16 year old grandson has been telling me jokes all morning. He has great delivery and timing:) Right now he is reading to his younger sister (13). They are re-reading the entire Percy series. I've been tearing up since yesterday so grandson helps with his jokes. My runner duck, , is injured. Somehow his neck and head got caught in a door and he was like that for several hours before he was discovered and rescued. He can't hold his head up. I am giving it a few days and if he doesn't improve he will have to be put down. is a fawn and white runner duck. His buddy, Jamal, is a magpie duck. I always laugh when they are walking around together because they remind me of Lenny and Squiggy. Remember them? lolMy cat, Tuxie, sits on me everything I sit down. The rest of the time she is up on the entertainment center or in her "cave"--the bookshelf below the TV. The other cats hat Tuxie and fight with her. I must be fair to the other cats because Tuxie is kind of cranky and likes to fight too. hugs to you Anne and all others dealing with emotional upset SharonThis email is a natural hand made product.
