Sorry if I seem to be dumb but I just cant understand all these test.

The T4, T3 and TSH. I read and read and it just does not sink in to

my brain. So here is my questions. I think I understand some of this

but want some one to tell me if I am right or wrong.

I am talking blood labs.

1. TSH. My limits on this test say I should be in the range of (0.350-

5.500) My results are 3.087. Ok my question is on the TSH. The lower

a person can get this the better they will feel?

2. Thyroxine (T4). Is this the reading for Free T4?

The limit on this scale on my lab works say (4.5-12.0). My result is

11.4. On the T4 or Free T4 what are we wanting the score to be? Lower

on the scale or a higher reading?

3. T3 Uptake. Just what is this? The limits on lab is (24-39) and my

results are 29. What range am I wanting this test to fall in? Lower

or Higher range?

4. Free Thyroxine Index. What is this? Is this the Free T3? The

limits on these labs are (1.2-4.9) Mine are 3.3. Question again do I

want my ranges to be lower or higher to feel better?

I just dont get it? I read this forum and see others telling their

test and you tell them they are to low or high on this or that and

its just not sinking with me.

My cortisol is 7.6. the limits on the lab test says (3.1-22.4)

Question should I try to raise that or lower it?

Now the question to Ferritin. I ask for this test but nothing on

these results say Ferritin. What should I be looking for that tells

me the Ferritin results if its not listed as Ferritin? There are a

lot of codes. Anyone know??

Thanks for any help you can shed my way

P.
