Guest guest
I haven't posted a proper update for a while, I think. Mostly because there isn't much to report, I guess. 's MS is behaving, the occasional small incident, but nothing much. The side effects of the medication come and go, like always. Right now they unfortunately come more than go... Luckily got an electric blanket (if that's the word) for her birthday, from her parents, and that helps with those flu like symptoms. The place where works is closing (or, closing mostly, moving some), like I have mentioned before. They wanted her to come with the company, and relocate to the west coast of Sweden, she has accepted a 6 months contract, with a full compensation package (that is the 16 months worth of salary those who lose their jobs in this process gets) to follow after those 6 months, she'll also get a promotion, and an increase of her salary, and a compensation for costs due to traveling back and forth, and costs for a place to live in the weeks (she'll get a maximum of 20,000 SEK [≈ 3200 USD] per month in compensation for those costs, but that's the average rent of 4-5 medium sized apartments here, so I think she'll manage to make it cover her needs in that department...). She will also get shorter work weeks. This means for us, that she'll be away for four days a week, the last half of this year. We'll miss each other, of course. But we have had that type of deals before, so I think we'll manage, since it's just for a short period of time. And there is phones and video chats too (that last thing was not available last time we worked, and part-time lived, in different cities like this). They wanted her to sign a contract where there was no time frame, because they wanted her to accept a position where she'll stay on, with an indeterminate employment. And she had to fight quite hard to get them to make it into a 6-months contract, I think she sent back the contract unsigned, with requests for a new, changed, one 4 or 5 times (and I think it was in that process her salary went up too, the contract came back with a higher salary on it, but still with no time frame a couple of times...). Might seem stupid to turn down a good job offer, I suppose, but the thing is, an indeterminate contract would mean we'd have to move to the west coast, and we have lived there before and hated every minute of it. Work isn't everything, one needs to have a life too. And we as a family need to make life work for both of us, as well. She is starting to look into other work options in this area as well, thinking that even if she isn't available for work until next year, she might as well start putting words out there that she is interested. That's about it, I think. love/Reb
