Guest guest
----- Original Message ----- From: DeanNetwork Her TSH came in low, low at 0.269 >>>The TSH is irelavent as she is on thyroid hormone. There should be no >>>nervous responses about this figure. ====>It has been as low as 0.4, but never this low, that's good to know that it's not a problem. I'll be back with ?'s however if her Free T3 comes back low indicating she needs more Armour. and her Free T4 came in at 1.070, which is also low. The Free T3 is not yet available but as T3 is converted from T4, I am assuming it would also be low. >>> T4 has a long-half life, I think it is 14 days. Her conversion may not >>> be great. T3 is the most important of the lot. The pediatrician is absolutely, totally FREAKING out >>> Freaking out about what so far???? There are 3 antibodies that should be >>> tested for 1 - Thyroid peroxidase antibody, TPOAb; - 2 - Thyroglobulin antibody, TgAb; and 3- Thyroid stimulating hormone receptor antibody, TRAb And ferritin should not be missed. ===>Dean, am I wrong in assuming that once you start Armour that the antibodies would " not " be present or that testing for antibodies would only yield a positive result before Armour? I think you cannot jump to conclusions until you have all the results. ===>Yes, you and are right about this, they have to send the Free T3 to Utah, small rural area here, and we won't have it back for about 2 weeks. Guest guest
Hi , > The pediatrician is absolutely, totally FREAKING out I can't understand why? Unless I'm missing something there is no reason even to blink so far. He is creating unecessary panic and obviously doesn't know enough about thyroid to be trusted. > ===>Dean, am I wrong in assuming that once you start Armour that the > antibodies would " not " be present or that testing for antibodies would > only yield a positive result before Armour? I'm not sure about this. Diagnos techs advises PABA when you have antibodies. Natural Thyroid Groups say you must increase Armour and then when you have the right dose the antibodies will come down. But these were usually tested before adding Armour. I really think it is poorly understood and I have not been able to come to any conclusion about antibodies yet. What I do know is that if your antibodies are present (high) you can't trust the other Free readings. Also, I have seen some people that have good blood thyroid tests, but saliva tests show that the hormones are not making it into the tissues. Was this blood or saliva? Guest guest
Dean, These are blood levels of thyroid hormones. I have never been able to figure out if testing saliva yields accurate results on small children, have you? I know of experiments where cortisol saliva tests are done on babies to check stress responses. Saliva tests are always reported to be more accurate.
