Guest guest
Chelle, That's such great news! Kudos to you for being such an effective catalyst for this to have happened!! Hollis ===================== Date: 2008/02/08 Fri PM 05:18:16 CST To: happypelvis , vulvardisorders Subject: P. will write a PT article for the NVA... I am so excited to tell you all that Prendergast plans to write an article updating the NVA readers and practitioners about PT as a viable treatment for Vulvar Pain. I have emailed back and forth with Veasley today and, long story short, it provoked me writing to and Liz and asking one of them to PLEASE consider writing an article, specifically for the NVA Newsletter. & Liz had already discussed writing one because they were upset about no mention of PT in the NY Times article. She told me that she would email Christin today, because Christin told me she could give Rhonda, Steph or Liz the specific info about writing an article. Let's hope and pray all of this does indeed come together. And PLEASE never underestimate the power of making your voice heard. I still encourage you to write, email or call the NVA and let them know about your positive stories with PT for Vulvar Pain. It will only solidify PT as a valid treatment for Vulvodynia. I am so excited. Many Hugs, Chelle

Thank you, Hollis. I think my email to was just back up on what she already planned to do. I am just so excited, though. I mean, one of the major cries of this group has been for PT awareness for V.pain and now we have a really good opportunity for it to happen. Let's just pray that doesn't hit any road blocks and that it goes well. You all should have seen me when I got that email from Steph, I did a dance in my kitchen!!! I firstheard about PT for that area about a year after I joined thislist (yep, long before the word got out on the show in Feb1999). I joined this list in 1998. True, but the NVA hasn't updated any info about the kind of PT that has helped 'some' women do better or even get passed their pain. The most talk about Rhonda, and Liz and their techniques has been discussed on the groups in the past 1.5 yrs. or so...and I would like to see the NVA 'update' that info. The kind of PT used years ago and the kind with Rhonda's techniques cannot even really be compared. The skin rolling and especially trigger point release can be such invaluable tools. ~Chelle

Guest guest
Chelle, The kind of techniques that and Rhonda use were used even back in the late 90s. As for why the NVA hasn't updated the info in a while there's a reason for that but I'll keep that to myself. At least hopefully more will get done to educate the public about all the treatment options for vulvodynia.
