Guest guest
hi samatha-- i'm sorry it didn't help you. what are/were your symptoms? i have constant burning localized to the vestibule, primarily on the left side only. i have used topical estrogen for many months and it hasn't helped me, though i know it has been a godsend for many women. hopefully the elavil will help me, and the estrace will help you! several women that i've corresponded with, who had symptoms similar to mine, have been helped by elavil so that's why i finally decided to try it. julie > > > > well everyone, after nearly 2 years of constant pain, i've finally > > decided to give elavil a try. i was very against it at first. but i've > > tried alternative treatments out the wa-zoo and have gotten nowhere. i > > don't know if this will help but i'm going to give it an honest try. > > it is going to be a while before i get anywhere near a helpful dose as > > i am only to go up 10mg/week. > > > > i hope this helps. > > > > julie > > > > , > > I tried Elavil about a year and a half ago with no help. Guest guest
Hi, , I know elavil has been helpful for many women. I had a doctor who was also a pharmacist and she said nortriptyline (same family as elavil and similar mode of action) was better as it had the same effect elavil had on pain but with less side effects. Maybe that's something you could discuss with your doc? Did you ever get the yeast addressed? Didn't you have an exotic strain? Guest guest
hi lindsay-- i have an appt. coming up to get the yeast taken care of. what cultured out was glabrata from my gut, a result of all the antibiotics i took for the lyme. i did have a yeast issue in the past (which i think is what set me up for all of these trigger points and nerve pain in my vestibular area) but it was very well taken care of, that is, until i took antibiotics again! julie > > Hi, , > I know elavil has been helpful for many women. I only have pain with insertion. I don't have constant burning or itching or anything of that nature unless the area has been previously irritated. I am hoping the topical application will help this, but we'll see. I love how you put it, maybe the Estrace will help me and the Elavil will help you. Keep me updated and again good luck, I'll cross my fingers for you!
