Guest guest
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------ParentsDISH www.parentsdish.org support group presents: Special Needs Trusts & Special Needs Planning by Minerva Vazquez , Esq. Presentation- Nov. 5 at 6:00 PMAbout the presentation: Lack of proper planning may prevent a disabled individual from accessing state and federal disability benefits. For example, a disabled individual may not have assets that total more than $2,000 to qualify for most benefits. A special needs trust is a valuable tool that may be used to provide for the disabled individual without disqualifying them from state and federal health and disability benefits. Also, a guardianship may need to be considered after the disabled individual turns 18 years of age. Otherwise, the law presumes that the disabled individual is competent and able to make their own decisions. *Please see attached flyer for more information regarding the presentation.
