Someone on here may have the CS info for your local hospital. Branches were sent a table of rates as far as they were known not long before the Caesarean conference last November, IIRC. Otherwise your local MSLC (Maternity Services Liaison Committee?) rep or your branch's antenatal teachers may know. Some hospitals rates are much higher than others. Sometimes it's because they take higher risk cases. Sometimes it is perceived that the consultants are a little knife happy and encourage women and their partners that cs is the best way to go. Some women want to know exactly when they are going to have their baby and would prefer a CS. I can't remember what the agreed average national rate is. Over 20% IIRC but the World Health Organisation suggests it should be in the region of 10-15% in developed countries. IIRC. If I don't I'm sure someone will know. Hope that helps to fill you in. --Sue Melbourne Oz
