I got NOWHERE with my Dr today I feel so bummed. We went over in great detail

all the labs - Adrenals, the reverse T3, and natural thyroid hormones...he said

no no and no but did offer to send me out for a second opinion..YEA I

think...WHERE TO? I am in SE corner of AL near Dothan, Bham is 3 hrs, Atl is

3.5, Jax is 5 anyone out there with a good Dr that understands?

Mine thinks: Cort 8 (after 5 sticks), different days ~ 5.3, 3.9, ACTH 9.1, 2.9

are OK since I responded to the Stem, doesn't believe in the RT3 dominance,

thinks NTH are unregulated and OTC! He is usually so open minded and flexible,

he put me on a beta blocker(haven't filled yet) for the racing, pounding heart

and said BP is better low than high. I think I need a shrink now for the

depressed mood ugggg!

So sorry to hear this - but not surprised at all...  How far are you from Tallahassee?  My ND is just wonderful here!  She's been a Nurse Practitioner for many years and is really open-minded about all this.  She is actually the first one who suspected I had adrenal fatigue and let me borrow her own copy of Dr. Jefferies' book to read and then let me try low-dose cortisol treatment years ago.  Later on she had learned more and we did the full saliva cortisol testing and went from there.  She believes in Natural Thyroid treatment, though she does sometimes use Synthroid still - however, she is VERY good about letting ME be the one to make the ultimate decisions about my treatment and she has been very cooperative with letting me take info I've learned from these lists and then letting me try the suggestions.  She even let me get the Erfa from Canada, giving me a year's prescription for it...  She does understand RT3 issues and T3-only treatment though sometimes I have to " remind " her about it.  She lets me get the blood tests I specifically ask for - i.e., FT3, RT3, Ferritin, Aldosterone, etc., as suggested here...

So - I believe she is " a good doctor who understands " (!) - you just still would need to stay on top of things on your own as well.  If you're interested, her name is Markovich, and her web site is at:

Thank you Jacki, I have her imfo noted and web page bookmarked. Tallahassee is

still a good 3-4 hours but it will be well worth it if nothing else appears

closer.
