Guest guest
All, I just had the most interesting situation while Cheryl took me to the CVS Drug Store to pick up my roids and to stop at the bank and post office. Normally Cheryl uses the drive up, this time we went inside and got our scripts. Then got sidetracked and decided to get a new snow brush for the car. Then while waiting I heard the customer ahead of us talking to the clerk about some symptoms the clerk had been experiencing. I am not sure how the conversation started, but the customer (Kathy) said, " those symptoms sound an awful lot like AOSD. " Well, my jaw dropped. Kathy has had AOSD for about 15 years with a 5 year remission at one point. She sees a Rheumy down in Philly at Jefferson Medical Center. Cheryl and I spent some time comparing notes with Kathy and it was just such a wonderful (not really a good term to use, I am afraid, but you know what I mean) feeling to meet another stilligan face to face and out of the blue. Like 2 other AOSD people and myself, she also has ILD Lung disease related to the AOSD. The clerk, by the way, is seeing a pulmonologist for " lung issues " after her CAT Scan showed " abnormalities " that sounded like ground glass, and the other symptoms sound awful familiar. That would be strange indeed if there were 3 of us in such close proximity. According to Kathy, she has a daughter who is starting to show some symptoms of AOSD as well and has a sister or cousin with Lupus. Just think, if we had not gotten delayed to the CVS because of icy roads, if I had decided not to tag along, if we had not gone inside, if we had not decided to get the snow brush.........if if if ?
