Guest guest
Hi guys. I am hoping for some insight.... I got my ZRT test back and my values are awful. I know this isn't the place for sex hormone testing but the adrenal group is closed until Sunday and I was hoping for some feedback! estradiol 1.4 <1.3-3.3> Progesterone 45 L <75-270> Ratio Pg/E2 32 L <100-500> Testosterone 5 L <16-47> DHEA <1.0 L <3.9-11.4> Cortisol 3.9 <3.7-9.5> but I am taking HC So pretty much everything is in the toilet and I feel correspondingly crappy.... I would love any advice, ways to dose etc. Thanks! Kitty
Guest guest
That is interesting about the aldosterone. My aldo came back <4 range was <=21. this was even before starting HC so I think my progesterone was low to start. I am taking 1 1/4 tab of florinef now and still need 4-5 teaspoons of salt a day! I know low testosterone has many bad effects! I was diagnosed with osteopenia, it was -1.1 in my hip. I have more hip pain now since being on the HC so I think my bones are being effected at this point. I have been trying to walk daily to at least get the benefit of some weight bearing movement. I had my Vit D tested, it was 67 so not bad but not great. I take 5000iu daily now plus whatever is in other vitamins like calcium and fish oil. I have not had Vit K tested. I will have to research that as well. How is Vit K important for bone health? I really hope I do well with the creams. I don't have the money or energy to try to find a compitent doctor right now.... Thanks! My own aldosterone was low; and I suspect that was partly because I was so extremely low in progesterone. Low testosterone can cause muscle weakness and fatigue (along many other things). I believe testosterone plays a role in healthy bone formation, so getting your levels up may help bone health. Being on HC can lower testosterone, it did with me. Val's had good luck raising her testo with the cream, here's a link to one of her posts:http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/message/38745Pardon my poor memory, but Kitty, did you say you were diagnosed with osteopenia? It is possible that raising your testosterone to healthy levels will help with that. (I guess you've already had your Vit D tested, have you had your Vit K tested? "If you want to get your vitamin K level tested, request the osteocalcin test. It is much more reliable than coagulation tests." from: http://www.lef.org/magazine/mag2000/feb00-report.htmlI never had my K tested, a but I do supplement it. Here's the K that I take: http://www.allergyresearchgroup.com/Full-Spectrum-Vitamin-K-90-softgels-p-91.htmlBack to sex hormones: I myself didn't have any luck with the creams and am trying sublingual troches (this is true for me for both prog and testo.)"aldosterone is made from progesterone"sttm linkhttp://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/aldosterone/Hope this helps.>> > > > > > > Hi guys.
