Guest guest
well, I will tell you what I know. Alot of woman with ICC also have vulvodynia. I had pain when I urniate plus the vulvodynia has affected my bladder. I lack the feeling I used to have when I have to urinate. However, I am on elavil which takes care all of my problems and I am going on. I do think you need a new doctor. VVS or IC? Good afternoon Ladies, how are ya'll doing? I went to see my OBGYNyesterday and I am highly frustrated, angry and depressed all in one.I was under the assumption that my doc was going to give me thediagnosis that I have VVS, and start me on a treatment plan. Instead,he gave me a questionnaire for Interstitial Cystitis thinking maybe Ihave that because I have to urinate up to 20 times a day. My gut istelling me I have VVS, does VVS have symptoms of frequent urination oris that strictly an IC symptom? I told my doc that I only have contactpain, that being by intercourse, manual stimulation and examination. He basically told me this chronic condition is uncommon and thetreatments are unsuccessful, which made me furious!!! I don't need orwant his negativity what so ever, I need a doctor who is going to beoptimistic. He gave me a referral to see a pelvic pain clinic, which Ihope will be able to give me a diagnosis. I am SERIOUSLY consideringgetting a new doctor because I feel as if he's not doing his job, andthat I know more about VVS than he does. What should I do ladies? Guest guest
I have VVS and have never had urinary frequency, but we're all so different. I will say I would find a different doc. who is more well- versed in vulvar disorders, because there are a ton of options for treating VVS, so don't let him tell you otherwise. Obviously you need to be seeing someone who believes you can be helped and is willing to prescribe things as such. You may benefit from a good pelvic floor PT/dilator work - this has helped me more than anything else. Melinda
