Everything we eat, drink, breath or touch has miniscule amounts of

toxic chemicals in them. Table salt is a distant cousin of Dioxin.

There is Dioxin in Beef Pork Chicken, Fish and Dairy Products.

Azathioprine (Imuran) is a Group 1 carcinogen. The Colazal Iam taking

for Crohns has caused liver failure in several people outside of

trials, but I still take it.

I take a Performance Multi-Vitamin, Calcium Citrate, Vitamin C, Fish

Oil (purified), Glucosamine, Chondroitin and Iron along with my FDA

meds.

Iam a major skeptic!, but I DO feel 100% better than I did several

weeks ago. No back pain!. No joint pain!. No fatigue!. No return of

the cramps or runs, on the lowest dosage of Pred!. A major change.

And YES I beleive that the addition of the over the counter

supplements has helped me along with my FDA meds.

At this point I dont take any herbal over the counter meds. Although

I might try milk thistle, after a little research on brands.

I was dealing with excruciating back and hip pain related to my

Crohns. I dont want to take opiates, so this is the direction I have

chosen persue.

For the record, my hepatologist seems pretty opposed to taking herbal

remedies of any kind. Some can be harmful to the liver. When I went

to the UCLA seminar on the liver in January, they had a pharmacist

speak about herbs, and he was also opposed to taking them since some

are very harmful to the liver. He said herbal tea was okay since that

is very diluted.
