You ask such interesting questions!! I just had to look into aspergillus.

Aspergillus are molds. Aspergillus niger is used to produce citric acid, and as a ulture for enzymes. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aspergillus

I think its use to culture isogest makes it SCD-legal.

Whether your body will tolerate it or not is another question.
