Guest guest
This is NOT a virus...it is a HOAX...go to the following site to find out more information and to find out how to restore that Windows utility file....http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/virus/virus.htm There is a link on the page and it will take you to McAfee and they have the instructions on how to restore it to your computer.... PS: Im a newbie here, but havent had time to intro myself, but will in the next few days....(very sick with the flu and a cold and a flare) just HAD to respond to this message of a hoax going around... Shae Fellow FibroMite in Minnesota Hello everyone, I hate to send this out but I recieved it today from a friend that I have emailed for the last couple of months. I followed her instructions and sure enough, there the .exe was on my hard drive. If I haven't emailed you recently, you are probably ok. I cleared the virus off the hard drive before sending this email. My anti-virus software did not catch this, so yours probably didn't either. I followed the instructions and getting rid of it is very easy. Hope you don't have it anyway. But it is better to be safe than sorry. Marla PS If you are in my emai book under a couple of addresses, you will get this more than once. ---------------------- And from Joanne, I received a message containing a virus, & chances are you have it too, since you are in my address book. It lies dormant for 14 days & then it kills your hard drive. Here's how to stop it. (If you've got it, send this to everyone in your address book.) The directions for removing it: 1. Go to " start " , then to " find " 2. In the " find all files named " type in sulfnbk.exe This is the virus. 3. In the " look in " make sure you are searching Drive C 4. Hit " find now " button 5. If this file shows up (it's an ugly blackish icon that will have the name " sulfnbk.exe " ) DO NOT OPEN IT! 6. Right click on the file, go down to delete and left click. 7. It will ask you if you want to send it to the recycle bin. Say yes. 8. Go to your recycle bin on your desktop & double click on the recycle bin. Right click on sulfnbk.exe and delete again - or empty the bin. If you find it, send this e-mail to all in your address book, since that's how it is transferred. With all the virus software, it's amazing how these things keep cropping up. I suppose it keeps recycling itself through everyone's address book. I'm sorry it came through mine!! Jeanne P.S. Some of you are getting this twice since you're in my address book at both e-mail accounts.
