Guest guest
-----Original Message----- But I think there is a crucial message here for everyone waiting for transplant -- Wait as long as you can. You may very well be right, except……… *IF* Ken had turned down the liver he was offered, and waited until later when he was much sicker, he most probably wouldn’t have survived all the complications he had. Of course we’ll never know if those same complications would have happened if he had waited, but they still would have removed his spleen and put him on Prograf, so I believe they would have occurred anyway. Plus, in Ken’s case he has a rare blood type, so if he had waited, he might not have gotten an AB liver in time. No one in our family places any blame on doctors, the donors or any decision we and they made, sadly s^*~ just happens. Even with all of the problems Ken has, we still believe everyone did the very best they could do, that’s why we don’t like the direction this article was written. Truth be told, everyone with PSC (and actually those needing any transplant) walks a tightrope and looking back with 20/20 hindsight doesn’t help answer any questions we’re left with.
