Guest guest
I think the itching (when/if it starts) is different for everyone. (my son, 10 years old, dx'd at age 7 1/2, tx'd at age 9 1/2) itched *horribly* for many months before his transplant. he used to rub his feet on the carpet until he had blisters and open sores. (He also was an insulin dependent diabetic, so not a comforting scenario for my nerves - LOL) 's labs were kept pretty darn good compared to so many here by doing constant ERCP and stent placements, so it didn't make much sense that way, why he would have such terrible itching. The rifampin helped GREATLY for him, though, once I got the docs to finally put him on it. Guest guest
My feet itch terribly and that is why I wear slip on shoes without socks. I have heavy duty toothbrushes for reaching my back, and I have this little thing to rub callouses off my feet, it works wonders scraping it across my feet to get to the itch, and then if my skin peels a little bit, it itches worse, and I tear the skin off it, which then makes them sore or bleeding. It's a never ending scratching battle!!
