Comments from Debbie in Seattle: While at our conference in Florida, I learned about the sad passing of another soul awaiting a liver transplant. In this case, however, he was unable to be listed. The article implies that the reason for UWMC's refusal to list him for transplant was because of his legal use of medical marijuana as authorized by his physician. I think most of us understand that UNOS looks at many variables before making decisions.
