Guest guest
I agree totally. That's what I was trying to get across. Sometimes I know what I am trying to say but it might come across differently to someone else. And I did not want anyone in the group to think a person was supposed to get an attorney before one was really needed. You actually are one of the lucky ones to have an attorney which is knowledgeable about SSA disability information and helping you. I am not bashing attorney's here at all. I am also knowledgeable in this field and know what is needed to be done. I hate it when I see information that is incorrect and which takes advantage of those who need it. Just felt I needed to explain myself better. Good luck to you with your case. I hope it goes in your favor. /WA
Guest guest
I agree I don't have a lawyer and didn't the first time I got denied. I am not being reviewed. None of my doctors want me to work. and there is more paper work than there is in the beginning. ~~~Tami~~~ hummycherub@... --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Guest guest
> Hold on there folks! > An attorney is not what you do until you have been denied 2 times and are > appealing what is called reconsideration. > /WA SORRY! I had an attorney to get a settlement from my former employer. The amount was considerably less than we asked for because Mayo Clinic DRs focussed on my fibro instead of my work injuries. When I received my work settlement, my attorney suggested that I apply for SSD. He did help me with the process and he was always available when I had questions for him about the process or if I needed information about my case. He went to court with me. I still haven't found out if I'm going to get it, but I can tell you my attorney was there for me every step of the way. All he got for my settlement was about $3,000 and I don't think he'll get much more than that for SSD. I really think it helps if you let them know right away that you have a lawyer. Guest guest
Whatever you do, keep copies of everything you send to them. They will sometimes call you and ask you the same questions that you answered on the paperwork. I think they are trying to catch you in a lie. They did this to me twice. I copied everything I sent to them. And they may send you a questionnaire with just about the same questions as the first. If you have the copy, you will know exactly how you answered it the first time. It took me a long time to finally get it, but I did. I applied in August 2000, the second time, and was approved August 16th 2001. Finally received the back pay they owed me in Jan. 2002! Although they did send me a few thousand a few months after I was approved. It was to " tie us over " till the money came in! Good luck. Rhonda disability question I received my paper work to apply for disability, I can't believe all the paper work, and they want it back in 10 days. They ask questions that I don't even know how to answer ! Any recommendations? Are the forms the same in all states? I'm in Michigan.
